WIF: esempi di applicazioni non solo tracking

Misurazione contatori elettrici wireless

In this application thousands of WIF units are each connected to up to 4 electricity meters using the S0 interface. The WIF units logs the power consumption on each channel with a defined interval, f.ex 30 minutes, and during the night, this log is sent to a central server using a SMS message. The unit can be configured and the datalog can be emptied using SMS messages, or with a data call using the RACP protocol.

Montoraggio pressione olio su centrali elettriche
A number ofWIFX4 units are monitoring the oil-pressure on high-voltage cables at the point where the cables are buried into the ground. It is critical that the cooling oil always are present. The system reports data back to a SCADA system 4 times a day, and if the oil-pressure drops below a defined threshold, and alarm is sent to the SCADA system.

Controllo impianti di irrigazione automatica e da remoto
Farmers uses the WIF-X4 unit for remote control and monitoring of their sprinkler systems. Using both SMS and Voice response systems, they are able to start/stop pumps, valves etc from their telephone. The system keeps an eye on the pressure in the pipes, and immediately sends SMS and/or a voice message to the owners telephone, allowing him to react no matter where he is located.

gestione rimorchi e container da remoto

The WIFX1 unit is mounted on a number of trailers. The unit monitors critical parameters, such as temperature and humidity. Normally the system also includes a GPS receiver. When the trailer is parked, the WIF unit will monitor the trailers position, and if the trailer is moved (stolen) the WIF unit will send an alarm to the owner.
Sicurezza antifurto e controlli assicurazioni per automobili

The WIFX2 with its GPS receiver is installed in cars and trucks. When the owner leaves the car, it arms itself, and if the vehicle is moved from it's parking position without being disarmed, it will report an alarm condition to the owner and to a central facility. All information is then available on a dedicated website, where the police (and the owner) can track the vehicle in near real-time. This system will be upgraded with GPRS functionality in the near future, to allow instantaneous tracking of the vehicle. Acelerometri danno lo stile di guida...
Controllo illuminazione pubblica con sms o via web, apps
The WIFX4 unitS  are currently being integrated in city wide systems for remote controlling of street lightning. The WIF unit controls a group of street lights and on the command received from the central control room either as an SMS message or via. GPRS the light can be turned on/off. If for some reason communication from the control room is lacking the unit enters a standalone operation mode where an inbuilt calendar controls the light. The unit also monitors the power consumption using an S0 meter interface..

Marketing di prossimità e controllo numero clienti nei centri commerciali con Bluetooth, wifi e simili

The WIFX4 monitors a number of units that are placed at all entrances to a store. The units are connected to the WIFBT thru an RS485 network. The WIF unit logs the number of visitors going thru each entrance, keeps a detailed log, and reports to a central WIFX4 connected to a PC every midnight. This PC can then deliver statistics over the number of visitors during the day. This helps maximize the planning of staff during opening hours. By installing portable person counters in the store, it is possible to monitor the effect of displays etc in the store.
Controllo livello acque
The WIFX4 units controls pumps and monitors water levels. The systems signals to a main facility, which in turn controls other "up-stream" pumps, preventing flooding of "down-stream" pump stations.

Controllo antifurto natanti di valore

The WIFX1 with GPS receiver is installed on a number of boats. When activated (thru a SMS message) the unit will remember and monitor the boats position (home position), and if it moves more than a pre-defined number of meters (also set with an SMS message) the WIF unit will immediately send a SMS message to the owner/captain of the boat. The owner is then able to follow the boat, as he will get Latitude/Longitude information, heading and distance from the home position.
Sicurezza case poste in siti remoti senza cablaggi via gsm

The WIFX4 unit is used for monitoring remote locations, such as cottages where there typically is no power available. The systems utilizes the WIF-M7 units ability to power itself down for a number of seconds, thereby saving considerable power, and allowing the unit and attached sensors to be powered from a solar panel. The units includes a built-in Gel accumulator that are charged by the solar panel during daytime.
Controllo temperature frigoriferi fissi e mobili!

If deep freezers in supermarkets are out of function during the night/weekend, it can have catastrophic effect ! The WIF-DIN units are used for monitoring multiple freezers, and sending alarms to the right person using SMS and Voice messages. This allows the operator to act fast, and minimize the damage
Tracking system for large Radio Telescope/Parabolic dish

The GPRS enabled WIFX9 unit acts, together with a WIFX4 unit, as a controller for a large (8 meter diameter) radio telescope. The unit steers the dish using hydraulic valves and monitors critical parameters such as wind speed. The WIF units monitors movement using absolute encoders, which are connected to the WIF's using a RS485 network. In case of abnormal functioning, the WIFX9 unit sends alarms using SMS messages. The WIFX4 doubles as a simple I/O unit and as a keyboard/LCD interface for human interaction.
Water treatment/cleaning

The WIFX6 units monitors the flow of water in water treatment facilities. The current flow is reported to a central SCADA system, using SMS messages. The system will shortly be upgraded to GPRS, using the WIF-A9 unit, allowing instantaneous monitoring of water flow.

Tracking Unit using GPS and GSM per animali

We was asked by one of our customers if it was possible to take the WIFX1 unit, put enough batteries in the unit so it could work for 10 months, and at the same time make it small enough so it could be placed on the head of a seal ! Oh, it also needs to survive 200 meter water depth. Our customer was in the process of building a large offshore windmill park and they wanted to research the effect on the seals living in the area.

We developed a custom designed WIF unit, total time elapsed from idea to working unit was only 3 weeks ! The unit is a good example of how flexible the WIF concept are. Essentially it is just a "standard" WIF unit, that has been changed physically to accommodate the size restrains. The developed program for this application, is a traditional WIF program, which also runs on all our other units, and was easily simulated in the WIF-IDE development environment. When the hardware was finished, it was just a matter of downloading the application to the "real" unit.

The unit is completely self-contained, with it's own high-capacity battery pack, it is able to operate for up to 10 months, logging its position via GPS each hour, and sending weekly reports via SMS. These reports contains all the logged positions as well as battery status etc. The unit has a sensor onboard, that allows it to detect if it is not  in saltwater so that the GPS receiver can be switched on to obtain the seals position. The WIF unit is encapsulated in a pressure resistant material, allowing the unit to go as deep as 200 meters below the surface !

Should you have any applications where the standard WIF units isn't perfect, please don't hesitate to contact us, for a discussion of your needs !
